Also “Suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru” is what the Japanese say.. in short SUDOKU ! Quite handy when time is free, and killing it counts ! Definitely one for lockdown times ..
It was in April 1984 .. like 36 years ago was first published in Japanese magazine Nikolist ..
Even before, it was called Number Place and rose to fame in America, introduced by Howard Garnes in Dell Magazine in 1979..but obviously not as famous as the name SUDOKU..
And actually dates back to more than 2 centuries when the concept was coined by a Swiss born mathematician Leonhard Euler.. none other than who gave us ‘pi’..
Sudoku gained it popularity after being published in Times Magazine, London in 2004, and since then it has been a crazy buddy.. keeping the newspapers more interesting 😀 . The first world championship was held in 2006, in Italy and since then many more ..
It’s a great way to spend your time, having fun, meditating without your knowledge, keeping you off unwanted mind chatter and definitely brain training 💡
